Chase: November 23, 2004 - ‘Texas Flood Fiesta’
Below are a few videos I shot of the day’s very wet travels
|
Following the HP supercell on hwy 79 I encounter flooded road conditions in Hearne, Tx |
Here is a shot of cars going through a flooded intersection in Hearne. |

More footage of Flooding on Hwy 79 |
Here on Hwy 6 there seems to be even more water and backed up cars trying to go through it regardless! |

Hear’s a humorous shot of what I called a ‘Smokenado’. From a distance I couldn’t tell what it was. At first it gave me a scare cause I thought it was a tornado without a condensation funnel. I didn’t expect one to occur in the location I found this. I was relieved it was a ‘Smokenado’. |
Not really a lot to see it’s so dark. But it was dark to me too. On my way home I detour to intercept a tornado warning in northern Williamson county near Liberty Hill, and turn around as grass and leaves start blowing across the road. Knowing something is up I decide to head home. Little do I realize I am driving right into the location of the newest tornado warning. This video is very dark and doesn’t show a lot. The weather wasn’t too bad yet, but you can see some minor debris blowing. It is after this video shot that I turn west toward the warning and the storm intensifies with hail, more wind, debris, etc. I didn’t care I was SO tired. Good thing I didn’t encounter the tornado. (For best results use Window’s Media Player, go to full screen but first make sure you increase the saturation, and contrast almost to max. You can also adjust the brightness a hair. Sorry I didn’t do this in advance. |
