I left Sagerton, Tx late for my target area (Tulsa, Ok) at 1:00pm for the second day in a row. I thought I’d be late for everything, but ended up catching everything.

The above two pictures show some of the odd things you see while chasing. At first (taking a road northeast of Wichita Falls, Tx) I thought I was seeing things. But no, these really were camels.  There was a whole field full of them.  The are seriously cool creatures!

A tornado is in progress and on the ground just 1 mile north of Sapulpa, Ok (southwest part of Tulsa). This was the first place I could find to pull over and shoot a picture. I was seeing the tornado for some time before this along the hills on the hwy. At this point after problems with my dashcam, etc it is already starting to dissipate. In this image you still can make out some small vortices extending below the funnel (though almost gone now). Just seconds earlier you could see the debris!

Same shot at nearly the same time, but with my dashcam apparently in 5 sec mode.  I didn’t even know it had a mode like this but was getting mad that my camcorder wasn’t working. Wonderful!! The date display blocks the view of the bottom of the tornado too! This was the logged Sapulpa tornado just moments before. Shame I didn’t get a better picture as memory will quickly fade unlike photos.

Taking a road through the town of Sapulpa to try and get a view to the tornado that is clear. Notice the funnel hanging down just to the left (northwest) of the big tree.

There were two tornadic areas as far as I know of. One was of the area just 1 mile north of Sapulpa in the pictures above.  The second area was a few miles further north east.  This large funnel is just above the ground here.

Another shot of the possible developing tornado.

This apparent tornado appears to be on the ground now.

I have enhance this image for color, contrast, and brightness in an attempt to better show this apparent tornado. From my distance I was unable to observe much rotation. Then again, I was constantly on the move and trying to get into a position where I could film.  In reviewing the video I can see the cloud tags around the funnel moving, and this is somewhat noticeable by comparing the frames above.

Note: Only 1 tornado was logged southwest of Tulsa this day, but both of these appear to be on the ground.  The first one I know was because I could see the debris, and as you can see the second one also appears to be on the ground. Would be nice to see a radar image to see if it shows two areas of rotation.

At this point, I had to bail south because another larger storm sporting a TVS was coming up and would cut off my retreat near dusk to the south. I wanted to beat the storm and so I left.
